Although her parents were originally from Florida, Mary grew up in the small town of Woodbury Georgia. She received her formal art training at LaGrange College earning a BA in Art in 1972. After graduation she returned to Florida and has since called Lakeland her home.

Working primarily with acrylics, Mary paints in an impressionist style. Among her favorite subjects are boats and canoes, birds and animals, and landscape scenes from familiar places …Lake Morton, rural Georgia, the North Carolina mountains, and Florida waterways.

Mary and her husband, Gary, enjoy living in Lakeland’s Lake Morton Historic District and spending time at their cabin in the mountains of North Carolina.
